The best weekend markets in the Adelaide Hills

Nowhere in South Australia will you find charming markets like that of the Adelaide Hills. A weekend morning wandering a farmer’s or artist market, coffee in hand, with brunch the final stop.

The Hills is filled with dozens of adorable towns, each with their own personality and feel. You don’t need to travel far to explore a local market or town event, especially in the warmer months.

Whether you frequent the same market every month or love to explore different towns, you’re spoiled for choice.

Here are five of our favourite weekend markets across the Adelaide Hills.

1. Adelaide Hills Farmers Market, Mount Barker
Every Saturday morning, you can shop for seasonal products, sold by the locals who grow them. Stock up on items such as fruit and veggies, eggs, meat and fish, honey, olive oil, plants, flowers, coffee etc.

2. Mount Pleasant Farmer’s Market, Mount Pleasant
On Saturdays, there’s a community-owned farmer’s market in the Show Hall at the Mount Pleasant Showgrounds. Support local farmers, makers, cooks, and creators.

3. Stirling Market, Stirling
One of the most popular and long-standing events in the Adelaide Hills, the Stirling Market always puts on a show. Pick up local jewellery, trinkets, cards, cosmetics, candles, soaps, clothing, accessories, antiques, as well as seasonal produce and garden products.

4. Uraidla Market, Uraidla
On the first and third Sunday of every month, the Uraidla Institute Building attracts locals and visitors for its spread of produce, gourmet food, jewellery, pottery, plants, flowers, and more.

It’s held on the last Sunday of each month. Make sure to time your visit with the Stirling Laneways

5. Meadows Country Market, Meadows
On the second Sunday every month, people flock to the Meadows Country Market for handmade, homemade goods from all over the region. It’s held in the Meadows Memorial Hall.
