Our Adelaide Hills food guide
The Adelaide Hills is famous for its wine, but its food scene is worth the visit. For a region that’s outside the city, it holds its weight as a standalone foodie attraction.
You don’t need to like wine to love the Adelaide Hills.
Whether you live here and are planning your next Sunday drive or you’re visiting from another area, there’s so much to see, taste and take in, here in the Hills.
From farms, wineries, cellar doors and pubs to luxury restaurants, converted churches and endless vineyard views, the Adelaide Hills is a special place to drink and dine.
Here’s a few of our favourites. The entire Nitschke team is spread out across the Adelaide Hills, and the family has been here for generations.
Miss Perez Kitchen & Bar: Stirling
A Latin American menu with an Aussie spin. Adelaide Hills wine and beers, of course. This is a fun dinner spot.
FRED Eatery: Aldgate
A pillar of the community, this café is always busy. FRED celebrates fresh, local produce, serves all-day brekky, and delicious lunch dishes. Be sure to check out the homewares while you wait.
Villetta Porcini: Mylor
This might be the most stunning spot in the Hills. Picture nature, fairy lights, an old stone cottage, and a chef’s table experience. Villetta’s setting is romantic and should be saved for a date night.
Lot 100: Hay Valley
Set on a sprawling 84-hectare property, you can enjoy some of the region’s best food and drink experiences, under one roof. Beer, cider, gin, pizza, cheese boards, shared plates, and much more.
Scenic Hotel: Norton Summit
Get a schnitty with a view. Scenic might be the most vibey pub in the Hills. Try a local vino while you’re there.
Sidewood Estate: Hahndorf
This award-winning winery is beloved in the Adelaide Hills. Sip the vineyard’s three wine ranges, sitting in a former apple shed. For food, there’s pizza, a shared style menu, and a more formal experience.
We could keep going, but these should keep you full for a bit.
