Of all the questions we get asked as real estate agents, ‘what is my home worth’ is one of the most common. Even for homeowners not looking to sell, it’s a common curiosity. Given the home is a family’s biggest asset, market conditions could influence when the time is right to make a move.

We release market updates each month with what’s happening in real estate locally, as well as Adelaide Hills property predictions for the year ahead. This year, we also released the State of the Market 2026 report, which includes a lot of exclusive Nitschke data and information you won’t find anywhere else.

In addition, we produce suburb performance breakdowns throughout the year to help guide newcomers and movers in the Hills. For example:

Navigate to the Find Your Suburb in the Market Report for sales volume in each suburb.

These are all handy resources but the best way to check the true value of your house in the current market is to do an equity check. We recommend getting a property appraisal twice a year, even if you’re happy where you are.

We have some clients who use the appraisal to benchmark where the property sits in the market and to see what other homes are selling for (and why). This helps them make decisions about DIY projects and updates that could add value to the property in years to come.

It also helps to keep an open, ongoing conversation with your real estate team (hi), which is important as this is your biggest asset. Don’t just reach out when you’re looking to make a move.
