Adelaide Hills

Adelaide Hills attractions you might not know about.

For tourists, it’s all about the wine. For most South Aussies, it’s that gorgeous slice of the state that’s a culinary haven. But to you, it’s home.

We’ve spoken recently about the developments that are transforming the Adelaide Hills, and the evolving personas of our darling towns. One new attraction can change the face of an area. Collectively, our region is becoming a culinary destination… with markets, eateries and quaint cafes giving it that tantalising Hills’ charm. This is one of the reasons why the real estate in the Adelaide Hills is in high demand.

Eat, drink, shop & stroll in the Adelaide Hills

Live in or around Mount Barker? You might be surprised with what you find, so close to home. Here are our favourite places you might not know about.

Lot 100
You might not know Lot 100, but you’ve probably heard of Hills Cider Co. Lot 100 is an 84-hectare ‘new-age barn’ complete with hybrid brewery, distillery, and winery. It’s home to locally-loved brands, including 40 beers on tap. Meander the vineyards, try the tasting-flight menu, and marvel at the views from this tranquil property.

The Olfactory Inn
An unassuming, stone-walled cottage in Strathalbyn, the Olfactory Inn’s inventive, curious menu defies culinary expectations. With fresh produce sourced daily, the Inn embodies the true meaning of the term, farm to table.

Summertown Drive
Travellers have coined Summertown, a ‘little piece of Italy.’ While it’s neighbour, Crafers gets most of the attention, this gorgeous suburb, tucked in a transforming pocket of the Hills, is turning heads (on the Sunday drive). If you find yourself weaving these vineyard-lined streets, stop by The Summertown Aristologist. A community cellar+café, this little spot is the epitome of a Sunday brunch.

Down the Rabbit Hole
With a name like this, you know you’re in for an enchanting time. It’s a vineyard (of course), but unlike anything you’ve seen. Yes, even living in the Adelaide Hills. The old converted bus-turned-cellar door takes visitors on a magical journey of the tastebuds. Come here in the afternoon to catch those orange hue, pinky McLaren Vale sunsets.
