Meet the Team Series: Introducing, Claire Ritchie

And as an Adelaide Hills Property Consultant, she’s able to help many families fall in love with life in the Hills, too. That helpful nature is what brought Claire to sales, prior to getting into real estate.

Her personal journey, buying her first home with her husband as a 20-year-old, was her first taste of the property world. This sparked a career pivot – a decision which, she’s thankful for every day.

“It’s an ever-evolving landscape that brings about new opportunities to learn and grow. There’s always something new and exciting to experience,” Claire shared.

As for what ignites Claire on a daily basis, it’s helping a client with professional advice or simply having a laugh with them, and of course, helping them buy their dream Adelaide Hills property. Putting up a ‘sold’ sticker on a client’s home is also fulfilling.

“Every client has a unique story that I love being part of. It’s amazing to meet people from all walks of life and help them transition into the next chapter. As long as I keep supporting our clients, I feel a sense of overall achievement. And that’s always a good thing.”

Every true Adelaide Hills local loves their wine, just like Claire.
There are three ingredients to a successful weekend, according to Claire: a winery, her hubby, and sunshine. Sunday afternoon is her favourite time to enjoy it and, we daresay, she’s come close to visiting most of the Hills wineries. Her favourite drop? Shiraz!

But just as much as she loves to sprawl out on a deck with a glass in hand, she is also an avid runner. Whether it’s early in the morning or after work, Claire’s taking in the sweeping sights of the Adelaide Hills. “I love the local running tracks that are spread throughout the Hills, especially in Mount Barker.”

The winter months don’t deter her, luckily (even scratching the ice off her car’s windscreen). “I just love the sound of rain and the greenery that winter produces.” Her love for Shiraz and locally distilled gin helps warm the body.

But her love for coffee rivals wine, which runs in the family. Claire owns Funk Coffee and Food in Mount Barker, with her husband and brother in law. “I love going in there and soaking up the atmosphere, marvelling at the business we’ve created. It shows that attitude, determination and hard work determine your success.”

It’s a recipe Claire’s certainly applied to her journey in real estate in the Adelaide Hills. Find out more about Claire Ritchie and how she can help you create your dream Adelaide Hills lifestyle.
